The Northfield Rotary Club has selected the Mill Towns Trail as the beneficiary of a large portion of the tour proceeds.
The Mill Towns Trail is a scenic recreational trail currently under development in Southern Minnesota.
The trail will link existing trails: the Cannon Valley Trail from Cannon Falls to Red Wing, and the Sakatah Singing Hills Trail between Faribault and Mankato.
The Mill Towns theme recognizes the historic mills that were once important to the economy of this area.

Proceeds from the Jesse James Bike Tour also help fund other Rotary Club projects that improve the quality of life for the people of the area.
