Jesse James Bike Tour

Come for the ride and stay for the raid!

Join us on September 11, 2010 for the Jesse James Bike Tour in Northfield, Minnesota.

The Jesse James Bike Tour is an official event of Defeat of Jesse James Days, one of Minnesota’s largest community celebrations. Held the weekend after Labor Day each year, Defeat of Jesse James Days commemorates the failed bank robbery of 1876 that led to the ultimate downfall of the James-Younger gang. The raid is re-enacted several times during the weekend, which is why we invite you to, “Come for the ride and stay for the raid.”

The Northfield Rotary Club has organized and operated the Jesse James Bike Tour as a fundraiser since 1995. Proceeds from the ride are earmarked as a donation to community projects including the Mill Towns Trail and Northfield’s Safe Routes to School program.

The tour features five scenic routes which travel through the lakes region of Rice County, the southern Minnesota towns of Northfield, Faribault and Lonsdale, and the beautiful rolling hills of Sogn Valley and Big Woods State Park.

Over 1,300 riders participated in the 2009 ride. This year’s tour will be held on Saturday, September 11 starting and ending at the Northfield Middle School. Choose from 100, 60, 45, 30 and 10 mile rides. More tour information »
